Minimum admission requirements: Admission for graduate study at Ball State University is a two-stage process for residents of the United States. Applicants should first complete a graduate school application. There is an application fee of $35 ($25 for students who have earned a Ball State University degree). Admission requirements for the Graduate School differ for Master’s Programs and Specialist in Education or Doctoral Programs. Only students who have met the Graduate School admissions requirements can be considered for admission to individual programs. Programs may have additional admission standards and requirements. Therefore, the Graduate School application should be completed well in advance of the due date for application to individual programs. Minimum admission requirements: Applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree granted by a regionally accredited institution (for international students, a degree granted by a recognized institution). Applicants are required to submit an application and official transcripts. Transcripts must be sent directly from the college/university attended to ISU. There is a $35 application fee. EdS and PhD applicants must submit a statement of intent, a vita, GRE scores and five (5) letters of recommendation. Academic Departments may require additional application materials.

Ordinarily, a B (3.0) average in the undergraduate major is required for admission to the University Graduate School. Applicants are required to submit an application form and official transcripts. There is a $50 application fee. Applicants may be required to take a specific entrance exam. i.e., the GRE or GMAT, submit an essay and/or submit letters of recommendations.
